Project Lemona
This home is a perfect example of what happens when thoughtful design meets a fresh start: warm, modern, and designed for real life.
From the moment I first stepped onto the property, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a simple refresh. This was a tear-down—and what followed was nearly ground-up construction. Basically, a true blank slate. We agreed a modern organic transformation would be our direction.
And honestly? Those are some of my favorite projects.
Starting almost from scratch gave us the freedom to really think about how this home should live, not just how it should look. The goal was to create something that felt elevated but still livable, timeless but never boring, and modern without feeling cold.
We landed on a modern organic, California-inspired style—warm, clean, and relaxed. Think natural materials, soft neutrals, and spaces that feel inviting the second you walk in.
The kitchen quickly became a major focal point. Warm wood cabinetry brings in that organic feel, paired with soapstone and a striking porcelain island for contrast. It’s polished, but still very much a kitchen meant for cooking, gathering, and everyday living.
The living room fireplace wall makes a statement without trying too hard. The stone adds texture and interest, while the built-ins keep the space balanced and functional. Nothing too precious—just comfortable, clean, and layered.
The bathrooms continue the same story, with neutral palettes, porcelain tile, soapstone accents, and warm wood tones that keep everything feeling cohesive and calm.
There’s something really special about watching a home come together from the ground up (almost literally) and seeing it turn into a space that feels both personal and effortless. Every material choice, every layout decision, every detail was thoughtfully considered—and it shows.
This home is a perfect example of what happens when thoughtful design meets a fresh start: warm, modern, and designed for real life.
